What clothes to wear to Morocco if you are a man
In the case of men, packing will be very simple. If you travel in Summer, you can include shorts, short-sleeved shirts and comfortable shoes. Although, if you prefer, there is no problem in wearing open shoes or sandals. When you are in Morocco, you may want to wear some of their traditional clothing. Include cool clothes like baggy pants and linen in your suitcase. A scarf, a cap and sunglasses for the heat.
If you travel in Winter, you can take your usual clothes that cover well, especially for the nights. Include some rain gear and keep this detail in mind also for footwear.
A more personal recommendation is not to carry objects of great value that stand out or attract a lot of attention, such as a watch. The greater discretion, the more comfort in general.
What clothes to wear to Morocco if you are a woman
As you well know, Morocco is an Islamic country. Therefore, you are going to find some women who have their entire body covered except for the eyes. In any case, this is not the situation for any traveler visiting Morocco. Therefore, it is not mandatory to cover your head or wear any specific garment. Now, our highest recommendation is that you wear discreet clothing to make your trip as comfortable as possible.
Loose and wide clothing is perfect. For example, long skirts or dresses, wide and comfortable pants, also midi skirts, short-sleeved shirts and straps without too much neckline. As for footwear, you can wear the one you prefer but since you will walk on all types of floors, better if it is comfortable.
If you’re traveling in Winter, wear jeans, covering sweatshirts, and a nice coat. You can bring rain gear such as a raincoat or umbrella and also waterproof shoes.
We recommend the same as for men: do not wear accessories that attract too much attention. You can also choose a comfortable fanny pack or put some type of pocket where you can keep your most valuable belongings, such as documentation, cell phone and money.
